My Story
I didn't come to America because I hated Canada.
I came because I fell in love.
I married an American, packed up the life I’d built over 32 years, and started over in a new country.
But my story really begins before that.
Like many people, I spent years trusting that the experts, the media, and the institutions were giving us the full picture.
Then the pandemic happened.
Watching the world shut down, seeing conversations become increasingly polarized, and experiencing firsthand how quickly questions were dismissed instead of discussed changed something in me.
For the first time, I stopped accepting headlines at face value.
I started reading the studies. Looking up the data. Checking the sources. Asking better questions.
And once you start doing that… it’s surprisingly hard to stop.
Then I immigrated to the United States.
I did it the legal way.
The paperwork. The waiting. The interviews. The fees. The uncertainty.
I read every form twice because getting it wrong wasn’t an option.
That experience reinforced something I’d already learned during the pandemic: most people have strong opinions about things they’ve never actually looked into.
So instead of repeating what someone else told me, I started sharing what I was finding.
Some people loved that.
Others… not so much.
Apparently asking for evidence became controversial.
So I kept asking anyway.
